About Eugenia (Jennie) Giannakopoulou

Founder | Attorney at Law (Greece & United States)

Eugenia (Jennie) Giannakopoulou is an attorney admitted to practice in the Supreme Courts of both Greece and the United States, and a member of the Athens Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. With professional experience spanning two legal systems, she brings a deeply informed, practical perspective to matters requiring cross-border coordination and strategic legal planning.

Jennie is known for her high ethical standards, measured judgment, and focus on efficient, cost-conscious legal solutions. Her work centers on assisting Greeks abroad and international clients who face the complexities of navigating multiple jurisdictions, often at critical moments involving property, residence, or long-term planning.

Having lived, studied, and practiced law in the United States for over 15 years, Jennie has first-hand understanding of the legal, cultural, and procedural challenges that arise when legal issues cross borders. This experience shapes her client-centered approach: anticipating risks early, avoiding unnecessary complexity, and guiding clients toward stable and sustainable legal outcomes.

Education & Academic Background

Jennie graduated cum laude, on a full academic scholarship, from Hellenic College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology. She earned a Master of Science in Criminology, magna cum laude, from Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Criminal Justice in Boston.

She received her Juris Doctor, with a specialization in International Law, from Boston University School of Law, where she was the only student in her class to receive scholarships from both the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and the Eleni Gatzoyannis Endowment.

Professional Experience

During law school, Jennie served as an Adviser to the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations in New York and clerked for Judge Richard G. Stearns of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

She was later recruited by the Organizing Committee for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, where she worked for two years in the Security Division as the International Security Cooperation Project Manager. In this role, she contributed to national-level security planning and acted as liaison with international stakeholders, including national Olympic committees, security agencies, and sponsors.

Following her admission to the Massachusetts Bar (2006) and her ongoing membership in the Athens Bar Association (since 2006), Jennie practiced with a respected law firm in Boston. Alongside her legal work, she was actively engaged in the Greek-American community, providing legal and interpretation services, teaching Greek for over a decade, and serving as President of the Pan-Macedonian Association’s Boston Youth Chapter.

In 2007, Jennie returned to Athens to establish her own practice, which has since grown into the Law Offices of Giannakopoulou & Associates.

She is particularly mindful of the human and practical dimensions of legal problems that affect families and individuals across borders.
